Who is Mobali wa Lisapo?
Mobali wa Lisapo is not a warrior, a gangster or a spirit. He is the voice of memory itself. He walks the streets of Kinshasa in flowing robes of blue and earth, a man out of time, and when he speaks, his words weave truth and prophecy together.
He is the narrator of Zaïko’s story, the griot who turns violence and betrayal into something eternal. Some whisper he is a spirit-griot chosen by Bilima himself. Others say he has simply lived long enough to see the patterns repeat.
Weaknesses
He can only witness: his power is to remember and to speak, never to intervene. Every tragedy he cannot change weighs on him. And if he dies before telling a story, that story could be lost forever.
What he means
Mobali wa Lisapo stands for the griot tradition of Africa, where stories are crowns and memory is immortality. His robes of blue and brown are sky and soil, the bridge that keeps legends alive. His name means the Man of Story in Lingala.
