What is Katiomics?

Katiomics joins two words: Katiopa, a name many Pan-Africanists use for the African continent, and comics. It is the genre HRM King Kufulula and ISOLELE created so that African stories would no longer have to borrow someone else's format to be told.

A Katiomic is drawn, colored and written by African artists, many of them working from Kinshasa, Goma and Bukavu. Its heroes have true African faces, hair and names. Its worlds come from Kongo history, the kingdoms of Kush and the Makanda, and African mythology. And every Katiomic belongs to one shared world, the ISOLELE Universe, where a prince from Kinshasa, a queen of Kush and the spirit of Patrice Lumumba can meet on the same page.

Manga carried Japanese culture to every corner of the world. Katiomics is built to do the same for Africa.
