The game

KUFU is ISOLELE's first Pan-African card game. Every player fights for one thing: the crown. Kings, queens, warriors and legends from Kongo civilization and the wider continent fill the deck, and every match opens with the same words: "Everything begins in Kongo."

Nine tiers of royalty

The 116 cards are divided into nine tiers, from the everyday to the sacred: Kufulula, RoiRoyal, Bantu, African Legends, Spades and Aces, Royal Court, Numbers, Joker and Kalûnga.

The Kalûnga card

At the heart of the deck is Kalûnga, Card Zero, The Origin. In Kongo cosmology Kalûnga is the line between the world of the living and the world of the ancestors. In KUFU it becomes a card with no equivalent in any other card game: a card of reversal and sacrifice that can turn the whole table upside down.

The Sacred Laws

KUFU is played under nine Sacred Laws. Among them: the Kalûnga Law of reversal and sacrifice, the Leopold II Curse that forces a player to draw 23 cards, and the Kufulula Declaration.

A deck made to be collected

KUFU is designed as a collector's deck: large jumbo cards on premium black-core stock with a soft-touch finish, gold foil on every gold detail, and a display case in dark rosewood with a glass top and a gold crest.
