Who is Mbuyi Kibwaya?
Mbuyi Kibwaya is the earthly twin of Kibwayulu, the celestial being who fell from the heavens in a rain of prophecy. Together they are the Two Flames of Makanda, one born of the sky, one born of the soil. Mbuyi was born beneath the Tree of Memory during the Rain of Origins, and from her first days she heard the heartbeat of the planet, the Drum of Katiopa, in her chest.
She learned Kimbili, the lost language of vibration that heals, summons and awakens ancestral spirits.
Her role
She was the mentor of Kimoya Kandake, teaching her ancestral communication and the healing power of vibration beneath the Tree of Pemba. She guards the Vault of Echoes, the living archive of Africa’s forgotten histories in the Makanda Desert. And in the age of Zaiire, her spirit guides the young prince in his moments of doubt.
Who she is
Serene and wise, every gesture of hers is a ritual. To the young she is gentle, to the arrogant immovable stone, to the worthy revelation itself. Statues of her stand in every ancient temple of Makanda, facing west toward the setting sun.
