Who is Sêmaya Kondjé?
Sêmaya Kondjé is a daughter of Dahomey, born of war, a guardian of destiny. In the ISOLELE Universe she is the silent shadow who walks behind Zaïko, his friend and his security: the Amazon whose blade never shakes, whose heart never doubts and whose ancestors never sleep.
Some warriors fight for victory. She fights for the bloodline.
Her look
Long braids threaded through large black rings, a red top, a leopard wrap over fitted leggings, gold bands on her ankles, bare feet on the battlefield and a long curved blade held out in front of her.
African cultural inspiration
Sêmaya honors the Agojie, the all-women army of the Kingdom of Dahomey, in today’s Benin. From the 17th to the 19th century these warriors defended their king and their land, and European visitors called them the Amazons of Dahomey.
Appearances
Sêmaya appears in The Legend of Zaïko: The Leopard Phantom King of the Streets, coming soon from ISOLELE.
