Who is Mwanga Lulendo?
Mwanga Lulendo Okapia is the gentle yet unshakable mother of Okapi Nkosi, the heart of the forest family. Her name means Light of Love. If Mfumu Yenge was the dawn that opened the paths of memory, she was the warm light that gave those paths meaning.
She raised Okapi to be brave and to love his companions, reminding him that even a Guardian’s duty must grow from compassion. Her lullabies were said to calm even restless spirits.

Graceful and tall, her coat shimmers with golden tones as if touched by morning sun. Her eyes are soft and luminous, full of warmth and patience.
What she means
She embodies a truth of the Congo: love and compassion are the true roots of survival. If Okapi is innocence and hidden memory, his mother is the soil in which that memory grows.
