Who is Nkosi?

Nkosi Ngoma Kelela is the first guardian of vibration, the one who discovered that sound itself is the origin of creation. He was born during the Eclipse of Thunders, when lightning split the Great Baobab of Katiopa. From its trunk the first drum, Ngoma ya Mwamba, was carved, and when Nkosi struck it, the universe remembered its own heartbeat.

After guarding the Five Gates of Makanda for centuries, he merged with the Eternal Sun of Katiopa and became the Golden Resonant.

African inspiration

His name carries real African words: Nkosi means king or lord in Zulu, and ngoma means drum in many Bantu languages, from Kikongo to Swahili. In the ISOLELE Universe, the drum is the first technology of creation.
